這組詞都有“地毯”的意思。其區(qū)別在于:
1.用來(lái)鋪地板或樓梯的叫carpet,指厚實(shí)的棉、毛地毯。例如:
She hesitated for a minute and stood while a tear or two splashed on the worn red carpet.她躊躇了一會(huì),靜靜地站在那里,一兩滴淚水濺落在腳下破舊的紅地毯上。
They rolled out the red carpet for the Queen when she arrived in Australia.他們鋪紅地毯隆重歡迎女王訪問(wèn)澳大利亞。
2.用來(lái)鋪室內(nèi)地面的叫rug,指小地毯、毛皮地毯。例如:
The rug on the floor of the living room is very expensive.起居室里鋪的毛皮地毯是很昂貴的。
3.blanket指小塊地毯,用來(lái)鋪地面的某一部分,也指蓋在膝蓋上防寒用的毯子。例如:
