each用作代詞時,在句中可作主語、賓語和同位語。
each用作主語時,常用于each of短語,如果each強調(diào)的是“個別”,謂語動詞與相關(guān)的物主代詞通?？傆脝螖?shù)形式,但如果each強調(diào)的是“集體”或先行詞是復(fù)數(shù)或先行詞的主語是由兩個或兩個以上的單數(shù)名詞或兩個復(fù)數(shù)名詞組成時,謂語動詞和相關(guān)的物主代詞則用復(fù)數(shù)。
each用作復(fù)數(shù)的同位語時,謂語動詞和相關(guān)的物主代詞也用復(fù)數(shù)(包括附加的疑問句)。
each other通常只能用作賓語,且總是同復(fù)數(shù)名詞或代詞相呼應(yīng),表示“互相”這一概念,含有“有來有往”的意味,所以不與conflict, compete等動詞連用,且用了each other則不可再加both。
each other的所有格為each other's,其后只接復(fù)數(shù)名詞。
