用法辨析
- high作形容詞時(shí),意思是“高的”“高度的”,形容高出地面或其他物體的東西,也可修飾任何比普通或一定標(biāo)準(zhǔn)高的事物,意思是“高級(jí)的”“重要的”(只用作定語(yǔ))。引申還可作“極度的”“強(qiáng)烈的”“價(jià)值高的”“數(shù)量大的”“奢侈的”,指超過了一般的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。
- high還可作“高尚的”解(一般只能用作定語(yǔ)),指人時(shí)表示人的思想、目標(biāo)、境界很高,引申還可作“全盛的”解,作此解時(shí),一般只能用作定語(yǔ)且沒有比較級(jí)和最高級(jí)。
- high還可形容“聲調(diào)很高”或“尖聲的”,有時(shí)還可表示肉、食物等“過期”或“變質(zhì)”。
- high不用于修飾人的高度,只有在與具體數(shù)量連用時(shí),才可用high。
