With eyes downcast, & not footloose, committed to jhana, he should be continually wakeful.
“他應(yīng)該目不斜視，足不躊躇，修習(xí)禪定，高度清醒；
Strong in discernment, virtuous in his practices, centered, delighting in jhana, mindful, freed from attachments, no constraints, no fermentations: The enlightened call him a sage.
有智力、有德行、鎮(zhèn)定自若，樂(lè)于修禪，有見(jiàn)識(shí)，不執(zhí)著，不粗魯，摒棄煩惱，智者們稱這樣的人為牟尼。
As the crested, blue-necked peacock, when flying, never matches the wild goose in speed: Even so the householder never keeps up with the monk, the sage secluded, doing jhana in the forest.
正如長(zhǎng)有頂冠的青頸鳥(niǎo)（孔雀）永遠(yuǎn)也達(dá)不到天鵝的飛行速度，在家人比不上隱居林中修禪的比丘、牟尼。
