常用用法

ready在句中多用作表語,基本意思是“準備”,指某人做某事之前已有所準備; 也可作“樂意的,情愿的”解,指人決心做某事,愿意并急欲采取行動; ready也可作“可能做某事的”解; 還可作“迅速的,立即的”解,此時可用作定語。
ready在句中用作表語時其后可接動詞不定式(不接動名詞),也可接介詞短語。
too ready to- v 不含否定意義,而含肯定意義,即“易于…的”“太…以至于”。

這兩個短語都可以表示已經(jīng)完成采取某種行動之前所必要的準備或具備進行某項活動的條件。其區(qū)別在于：
1.be ready表示具備做某事的條件、處于可以做某事的狀態(tài),或有思想準備,樂于做某事。例如:
We are ready to start.我們準備好了,可以開始了。
He was always ready to help his friends.他總是樂于幫助朋友。
2.而be prepared除強調(diào)為做某事而進行了積極的努力外,還常常用來強調(diào)精神上有應付意想不到的事件的能力。例如:
The student was thoroughly prepared for the examination.這個學生為考試做了充分準備。
These children are prepared for the disappointments as well as the joys of life.這些孩子不僅準備享受生活的樂趣,而且也準備經(jīng)受生活中的失意。

這兩者讀起來音相同,但卻絕非一回事。already是副詞, ready是形容詞; already的意思是“已經(jīng)”, all ready的意思是“全準備好”, all用以表示程度。試比較：
He is already there.
他已經(jīng)在那兒了。
He is all ready there.
他在那兒完全準備好了。
The tea is already on the table.
茶已擺在茶幾上了。
The tea is all ready on the table.
茶已沏好,擺在茶幾上了。
