burst的基本含義是“破裂,爆炸”,主要指內(nèi)部能量突然釋放而造成的爆裂或漲破,強(qiáng)調(diào)爆破的原因,也指一直受壓抑或阻礙的物或事物突然迸發(fā)或可能迸發(fā)。burst還可表示“猛然用力打開(kāi)”“掙脫”“突然闖入〔沖出〕〔喊出〕”等。
burst可用作不及物動(dòng)詞,也可用作及物動(dòng)詞。用作不及物動(dòng)詞時(shí),可接動(dòng)詞不定式作狀語(yǔ),表示“急於做(某事)”。用作及物動(dòng)詞時(shí)可接名詞或代詞作賓語(yǔ),偶爾也可接以形容詞充儅補(bǔ)足語(yǔ)的複郃賓語(yǔ)。
