Small vessel disease (SVD) of the cerebral white and central grey matter is an important subtype of vascular dementia (VD). SVD-dementia is characterized by a dysexecutive type of cognitive impairment,neurological deficits including imbalance and voiding dysfunction,and emotional disturbances.
