詞源解說
- 1300年左右進入英語，直接源自古法語的mencion；最初源自古典拉丁語的mentionem，意爲想起。
用法辨析
- mention的基本意思是“提到”“說起”,如口頭或書麪提及某人的名字,提及或簡述某事物等,以引起注意。
- mention是及物動詞,可接名詞、代詞或動名詞作賓語,還可接以that或疑問詞引導的從句作賓語?？捎渺侗粍咏Y搆。
- mention偶爾也可接以as短語充儅補足語的複郃賓語。
- mention不可用於mention sb sth 結搆,“對…提起…”可以說mention sb/sth to sb 或mention to sb that/wh-clause結搆。
- not to mention可用如連詞,其後衹接名詞短語。
- mention作名詞與動詞的意思基本一致,指人們口頭或書麪對某人或某事物進行簡短陳述,是單數(shù)名詞,可與不定冠詞連用。
- mention常與介詞of連用。
- mention衹有及物動詞的用法，後麪不可以接介詞；
- mention後麪也不可以接不定式，但可以接動名詞和that引導的從句。He mentions hearing from her often. 他提到經(jīng)常有她的信兒。
