- search的基本意思是“搜查”,指懷著發(fā)現(xiàn)某物的希望而認(rèn)真、深入地尋找或調(diào)查,多指搜索、檢查犯罪的人或違禁的、丟失的東西。強調(diào)所用的努力及其徹底性,含有對立或不滿的意味,用於比喻可表示“冥思苦想”等。
- search既可用作及物動詞,也可用作不及物動詞。用作及物動詞時,其後可跟人、房屋、衣袋等名詞或代詞作賓語。
- search的目的物常用for引出,而搜尋的地方常用介詞through引出。
- search用作名詞時,意思是“尋找”“找尋”,指仔細尋找某人或事物的動作,既可作可數(shù)名詞,又可作不可數(shù)名詞。指一次具躰的尋找時,可加不定冠詞a。
- search接介詞of側(cè)重“尋找的對象”; 接介詞for側(cè)重“尋找的目的”。
