- sign的基本意思是“標(biāo)記,符號”,指寫在或刻畫在物躰上的,代表具有固定意義的一種簡明的符號或標(biāo)志,使人一看便知道它所代表的意義。sign引申可作“手勢,姿勢”“信號”“征兆,跡象”解。
- sign後常接of短語作定語,有時還可接動詞不定式或that從句作定語。
- sign用作名詞時有“記號”的意思,轉(zhuǎn)化爲(wèi)動詞可作“簽名”解,一般指人在文件、信件上簽署自己的名字; sign作名詞還可作“手勢”解,轉(zhuǎn)化爲(wèi)動詞則是“做手勢”的意思,指由於某種原因不能用語言表達(dá)或不想用口頭方式交流的情況下用手勢來表達(dá)某種意圖。
