前綴di-,twi-分別來(lái)源于希臘語(yǔ)和古英語(yǔ) twa。大家一定還記得拉丁前綴bi-吧，現(xiàn)在要介紹的di-是與bi-同義的希臘語(yǔ)源的前綴，它的意思也是twice,two。其實(shí)，di-與bi-在印歐語(yǔ)中是同源的。di-最早出現(xiàn)在希臘語(yǔ)源的借詞中，只與希臘詞根綴合。但在現(xiàn)代英語(yǔ)中，di-成為很有用的術(shù)語(yǔ)前綴，可以跟單詞相結(jié)合，構(gòu)成科技術(shù)語(yǔ)，尤其是化學(xué)術(shù)語(yǔ)。

1.dilemma

2.dioxide
n. a compound containing two atoms of oxygen二氧化物 *di (=two),ox (=acid,sharp)
例句：Plants can absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen.植物能夠吸收二氧化碳，釋放氧氣。

3.diphthong
sound made by joining two vowels 雙元音 *di (=tow),phthong(=sound)
例句：English diphthongs are especially difficult to pronounce if you native language does not use them.如果你的母語(yǔ)中不存在雙元音，你就會(huì)覺(jué)得英語(yǔ)的雙元音發(fā)音很難。

4.diverge
v.get farther apart from a point or from each other as they progress;turn off,deviate分叉；分歧；脫離，背離 *di (=apart),verg(=lean)
例句：Over the years our interests diverge and we hardly even talked to each other.隨著時(shí)間的流逝，我們之間的興趣點(diǎn)產(chǎn)生了分歧，甚至彼此都不說(shuō)話了。

5.divide
v. separate into parts 分開(kāi)，分離
n. something that divides,especially a watershed 分開(kāi)的東西，尤指分水嶺 *di<dis(=apart),vid(=look)
例句：if we divide the work among us ,we'll get it done a lot quicker.如果我們分開(kāi)來(lái)做這項(xiàng)工作，我們將完成得更快。

6.divorce
