tend,tens,tent = to stretch（伸）

tend,tens,tent這三個(gè)爲(wèi)同源異形根，tend來(lái)源於拉丁動(dòng)詞tendere, 意爲(wèi)to stretch（伸開(kāi)，伸長(zhǎng)，延伸）；tens和tent都是這個(gè)拉丁動(dòng)詞的動(dòng)名詞詞乾（tendere有兩個(gè)動(dòng)名詞形式:tensum和tentum），主要用來(lái)?yè)k成相應(yīng)的名詞和形容詞。

1.contend （con<com(=together) + tend(=stretch)相互拉扯，共同伸取某物 --->）
